The CCTV system

CCTV

Calne Town Council own the town centre Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system.  The system was installed to assist Police with the prevention and detection of crime and antisocial behavior.

Recording 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, the CCTV system covers the majority of the town centre area and helps create a safe environment for users.

The system is regularly monitored by both paid security personnel and by volunteers.  Monitoring of the system is the most effective means of capturing incidents as they occur, and the volunteers provide a vital means of maximising the system coverage.

You can volunteer to monitor the CCTV system by completing the application forms below and returning them in person to the Visitor & Community Information Centre.

You will need to bring some form of photo ID with you (driving licence, passport) when you return your application forms.

You must be over 18 and able to spare at least 3 hours per month for monitoring duties.
