The Young People’s Town Council (YPTC) is an initiative to involve young people in local government.  It helps young people to understand the role local government plays in their lives and also to have a direct input into projects and issues that affect them.

The YPTC has had input on many major local projects, including the Northern Distributor Road, and the skateboard projects.

Their activities include direct consultations and surveys with other young people gaining their view on local initiatives.

Each primary and secondary school in Calne has the opportunity to appoint a representative to the YPTC.
