| Description of Service |
| The Archaeology Service has the duty of recording Wiltshire´s archaeology and negotiating with landowners and developers to ensure that ancient sites are not damaged or destroyed. The Service uses a digital mapping system and computer database to maintain the Wiltshire Sites & Monuments Record and to transmit archaeological information to the construction industry and other end-users. |
