| Public sewers are those sewers that are owned by Water Companies. They are responsible for maintaining public sewers, homeowners are responsible for private sewers and drains. Private sewers are those sewers that the person constructing them chose not to have adopted as public by the water company or its predecessor bodies. Drains are pipes draining single properties to a sewer - whether public or private. |
