Online payments - Help
The Online Payments facility is provided so that you can pay a Parking Fine (Penalty Charge), Council Tax, Business Rates or other invoices over the internet, using your credit or debit card.
In making your payment you will be taken through 3 steps. To access the secure payments system you will need to click on 'Pay Online' on the previous page.
Step 1 - You will be asked which service you want to pay. Choose a service from the drop down list.
- Enter the amount you would like to pay in the Payment Amount box.
- You will then be asked to put in the appropriate reference number, this will be found on your relevant paperwork
- Click on the 'Add' button to add the payment to your shopping basket or 'Reset' to clear the payment information.
- To make another payment for a different service, then select a new service from the drop down list.
- Click the 'Accept' button to confirm details or the 'Remove' button to delete the payment.
Step 2 - You will be asked for the Credit or Debit card details, click on the 'Make payment' button.
Select your card type, enter the number, start date and end date, along with your name and address. If you require an email confirmation of payment, please enter your email address.
It will take a few seconds whilst the system gets authorisation for your payment. If authorisation is refused no transaction will take place.
Cards are not refused by North Wiltshire District Council, they are refused by your bank. There are many reasons why this may happen and we suggest you contact your bank directly.
If successful you will be advised that the authorisation has been successful. Depending on your bank or card issuer, please allow up to 5 working days for your payment to clear.
Step 3 - Confirmation of your transaction will be displayed.
Print the page for proof of the transaction. If you have entered your email address a confirmation will be sent to you.
Click the 'Done' button to finish.
