Licensing Policy
The Council has to produce this policy as a result of the Licensing Act 2003. The Licensing Act transferred responsibility for alcohol licensing from the Magistrates Courts to District and Unitary Councils during 2005.
Regulations have been published by DCMS. These Regulations stipulate the processes which Licensing Authorities and applicants have to follow in dealing with applications for licences and variations of those licences and fees. The Regulations are available on the DCMS website (see the link below).
