Any person wishing to deal or sell Game must hold two forms of Licences under the Game Act 1831 and Game Licences Act 1860.
Game is defined as:- Hare, Pheasant, Partridge, Grouse, Wild Fowl, Heath or Moor Game or Deer.
The first Licence is a Game Dealers Licence which is issued by the Council at a charge of £4. This empowers the Licensee to buy Game anywhere from any person who may lawfully sell Game. However they can only sell Game from one address or outlet kept by them.
The second Licence is an excise Licence issued by the Post Office acting as an agent, or the Council. This licence is to deal in Game generally and does not relate to dealing in Game in one particular place. The cost of this Licence is 25p.
