Gambling Act 2005

As a result of the Gambling Act 2005 Local Authorities, including North Wiltshire District Council, will become responsible for licensing premises used for all forms of gambling (accept the National Lottery) in 2007.  In advance of the Act coming into force Licensing Authorities are required to agree and publish their Statement of Principles (the policy that they will apply in coming to decisions on gambling premises licences).  North Wiltshire District Council's Statement of Principles was adopted on 5th December 2006.

From 21st May 2007 until 31st August North Wiltshire District Council will be accepting applications under the transitional arrangements.
