Wiltshire Assembly of Youth (WAY) /UK Youth Parliament Elections (UKYP) 2006
WAY is an elected body of young people who live across all four of the districts in Wiltshire. UK Youth Parliament is a national organisation with elected young people from across the whole of the United Kingdom. In Wiltshire, young people elect 2 UKYP reps and two deputies each year to represent the young people in this county. The UKYP reps form part of WAY, along with 22 other members.
WAY work closely with a lot of organisations and decision making bodies across Wiltshire and are forging good links with the North Wiltshire Young People’s Council (NWYPC)– in fact several members of the NWYPC are standing for election onto WAY, in addition to the work they do in North Wilts.
In the North/West region of Wiltshire there are six candidates standing for election. Voting takes place, using text votes this year, during 23
rd – 29
th January. Posters and further details about these candidates can be found in schools and youth centres in the area. If you would like a chance to vote in these elections and would like more information then phone Lesley Taylor, Voice and Influence Co-ordinator on 07768 557689 or look at the
