Youth Issues

  • Involve young people in creating safer communities in North Wiltshire
  • Reduce youth offending by supporting the work and objectives of the Youth Offending Team
  • Reduce truancy and exclusion
  • Involve young people in improving accessibility to services
  • Work with young people most at risk.

Drugs and Alcohol

  • Work with Drug and Alcohol Action Teams and Youth Offending Teams in tackling drugs and alcohol abuse
  • Develop drugs and alcohol awareness programmes
  • Operate an intervention programme for persons subject to the criminal justice system
  • Positive enforcement against suppliers of illegal drugs
  • Improve availability of information and access relating to treatment and care for users.

Domestic Violence

  • Increase awareness of the effects and extent of domestic violence in North Wiltshire
  • Reduce repeat incidence of domestic violence
  • Make it easier for victims to report incidents of domestic violence
  • Provide support for victims

Town Centre Crime

  • Reduce vehicle crimes
  • Reduce burglaries to peoples homes
  • Reduce burglaries to commercial premises.

Develop A Partnership in North Wiltshire

  • Improve working partnerships with voluntary and statutory organisations
  • Make best use of all the resources available for reduction of crime
  • Provide accurate and effective information on local crime and methods of tackling problems.

Fear of Crime and Crime Reduction

  • Make it easier for victims to report and receive support relating to racial incidents
  • Reduce fear of crime arising from misuse of drugs and alcohol
  • Reduce fear of crime by raising confidence for victims of domestic violence to seek help
  • Reduce fear of crime arising from burglaries and theft
  • Encourage and enable young people to present a positive image of themselves.
