Audit Commission Act 1998 Sections 15 and 16
NOTICE is hereby given that from 3rd July 2007 to 27th July 2007 between 8.45 am and 4.45 pm (Monday to Friday) any person interested may inspect, and make copies of, the Accounts of North Wiltshire District Council for the year ended 31st March 2007 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto. The Accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the Council’s Monkton Park offices, Chippenham.
Notice is also given that on 31st July 2007, the auditor at the request of a local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or their representative an opportunity to question him about the Accounts. Any such elector or their representative may attend before the auditor and make such objections as to any matter in respect of which the auditor could take action under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act (an unlawful item of account or failure to bring a sum into account) or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of that Act.
Questions may be received at the Monkton Park office by arrangement with the auditor (Mr C Hackett, Audit Commission, Block 3 Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester GL1 2TG) to whom requests should be addressed. No objection may be made unless the auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds, and a copy of the notice must be sent to the Finance Team Leader, North Wiltshire District Council.
