Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) is a process to help Councils improve local services.
The Audit Commission inspected every District Council in Wiltshire in January 2004. They have made a judgement on how good our services are, how well community needs are being met and how strong our improvement plans are for the future.

The way in which North Wiltshire District Council is run and delivers its services has been ranked as
'Fair'.
The overall assessment awarded 41 points. Just one more point would have determined a ‘Good’ assessment.
The report clearly recognises the council’s efforts to prepare for the future, making reference to the new offices, the new management structure and service improvements that are already being made. This recognition focuses on the clear plans of what needs to be done to continue to ‘Improve North Wiltshire’ – as set out in the council’s Corporate Business Plan. As a result, North Wiltshire District Council received the highest possible score in the category of 'investment' based on how we are moving forward.
