Parish Review

The District Council is undertaking a review of parish electoral arrangements which it hopes to tie in with the Electoral Commission's review of District ward boundaries.  However, the two reviews are separate exercises and each should be looked at in its own right.

The Council's proposals are currently with the Department for Communities and Local Government for a decision.  The May 2007 parish elections will be run on the existing parish boundaries, unchanged.

The main consultation document runs to several pages, but it is suggested that you start at paragraph 2.1 which explains the structure of the document.  For those who only wish to see the overal recommendations it is only necessary to read a few pages.  However, if you wish to see the detail of previous discussions and views, the index at page 5 of the document will help you.
