Child Protection is the area that deals with children who are at risk from violence, neglect or abuse. At risk Children are those at risk of significant harm and are registered on the Child Protection Register. If a professional person from an agency, such as doctors, health visitors, police, dentists, school or nursery staff, is concerned for a child's welfare, they can contact their designated child protection manager.Their concern will be logged against the child and they will be informed of any other concerns that have been raised in the past. This method of working is designed to ensure that cases like that of Victoria Climbié are never repeated.
