Full Plans Application Site Inspection Programme
The Building Control Surveyor will visit the site at the following stages of your building work:
Commencement of Work
when your contractor starts site preparation work
Excavation for Foundations
when the trenches are completely dug out, before concrete is placed
Foundation Concrete
excavations concreted and sub-structure commenced
Damp Proof Course
DPC bedded/walls tanked
Oversite Concrete
preparation for ground floor construction, when sub-grade
consolidated, membraned and insulated, timber joists or pre-cast
beams and vents in place, or reinforcement placed, all BEFORE
concrete is placed.
Drains (Stage 1)
when foul and storm drainage runs are laid to falls and bedded-up,
with inspection chambers etc.
Drains (Stage 2)
laid on test for observation
First Floor Timbers
before ceilings are boarded
Fire Stopping/Fire Barriers/Fire Protection
before covering in
Structural Beams, Posts, Connections etc.
before covering in
Roof Timbers/Beams
preferably prior to felting but BEFORE ceilings are boarded
Occupation of Building
Completion of Work
when all sanitary appliances, fans, insulation, down-pipes etc. are
fitted, i.e. all works complete EXCEPT decoration/landscaping
