Action by Local Community Groups

If you represent a local community group or a Parish Council and would like to inform the North Wiltshire public about an environmental/sustainable project, idea or scheme please utilise this website.

You may wish to ask for local volunteers or join up with other interested groups to launch a carbon reduction campaign or promote a more sustainable life-style.

Local Community Groups

CAVE is an entirely voluntary environmental group, set up as part of the Community Plan scheme launched by NWDC.  The group is made up of experienced volunteers with great knowledge of environmental and energy related issues and plays many roles in the community, the main one being facilitator or hub to many local groups wishing to take action to improve the local environment.

ecolerne is a community initiative based in the village of Colerne, North Wiltshire that advocates the principles of sustainable living at both the local and global level.

Ps and Qs stands for Purton's Qualities and is an established group of villagers who have a similar interest in maintaining and, where appropriate, improving the quality of village life. The organisation came about in early 1994 through initial support by members of the Purton Evening WI.
