Is a building listed
How do I know if a building is listed
When a building is added to the statutory list, the owner and /or occupier is notified. Listed building status is also revealed in the local search when buying a property.
If you are unsure whether your building is listed you can inspect the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest at the Council offices, or ring in and ask for a copy of the listing to be sent to you. Sometimes a clear diagram or map of the property location is required.
Alternatively, you could try this web site set up by English Heritage which enables you to search for a property to see if it is listed, its listing status and possibly a photograph with it.
