Enforcing Planning - an overview



The Development Control and the Local Plans service is the mechanism that ensures the protection and development of our built environment in modern and sensitive ways. It is the Enforcement service that provides the teeth to ensure that it remains that way.

There are six stages in enforcing breaches of planning control.

Awareness

Investigation

Analysis

Decision

Action

Legal Action

All staff within Planning Services will be happy to receive and treat your complaints and queries sympathetically. However, the Enforcement Team has the specific responsibility to handle breaches of planning control and where possible queries should be directed to:
