Car Boot Sales

Car boot sales can take place for up to 14 days in a calendar year without planning permission. This only applies to open land not within the curtilage of a building and does not allow the erection or use of any buildings or structures. Any items associated with the use would need to be removed between days of use.

If planning permission is required issues to be taken into account will include:
           Traffic generation and highway safety
           Residential amenity
           Noise and disturbance
           Sustainability and landscape impact

Advertisements are controlled separately under the Advertisement Regulations and the use of a site does not allow indiscriminate erection of advertisements.

Anyone wishing to hold a car boot sale is advised to seek advice from planning services to ensure permission is not required.
