North Wiltshire Local Plan 2011

Public Local Plan Inquiry

The Public Local Inquiry into the objections to the North Wiltshire Local Plan 2011 took place at Chippenham Town Hall, High Street, Chippenham. The Inquiry commenced on Tuesday 7th June 2005 and formally closed on Friday 9th September 2005.

Local Plan Representations

  • Inquiry Representations
    Within the consultation period of the First Deposit and Revised Deposit Draft Local Plan 2011 over 3500 representations were received. The following web page provides an outline of all the objector's representations received and the authority's initial response.

Topic Papers

  • Inquiry Topic Papers
    Topic Papers are intended to set out the background and context of key issues facing the district and together with the relevant planning guidance and policies go on to show how the Council intends to address them. A Topic Paper is not written in response to individual objections but rather to provide an overview of concerns that underpin, detailed Local Plan policies. Topic Papers will be presented to the Planning Inspector in advance of the Public Local Inquiry as evidence in support of the plan. Topic Papers may be subject to consideration at Roundtable Inquiry Sessions.

She will provide support for the Inspector throughout the Inquiry and is the point of contact for all procedural, administrative and programming matters. The independent Inspector appointed by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to hold the Inquiry and report to the Council is Mr G. Rowlands. The Inspectors role is to consider all unresolved duly made objections to the First Deposit Draft Local Plan, Revised Deposit Draft Local Plan and Pre-Inquiry Changes.

The Public Inquiry is open to members of the public for observation purposes however only those who have duly made representations at the First Deposit and Revised Deposit stage can submit further evidence in support of their representation. Please note that written representations carry as much weight as cases presented in person.

Pre-Inquiry Meeting

The Pre-Inquiry Meeting was held in Chippenham Town Hall on Wednesday the 9th March 2005. The purpose of the Pre-Inquiry meeting was to provide an opportunity for procedural and administrative matters relating to the Inquiry to be explained and discussed. The minutes of this meeting are now available for download.

All documents prepared or published by the Council are subject to the Council's copyright. The supply of documents under Freedom of Information does not give the recipient the right to re-use them in a way that would infringe that copyright, for example, by making multiple copies for sale or using them for any commercial purpose.

Copyright in documents originally provided by other parties is generally held by the person who produced that document.  Authorisation to re-use copyright material not owned by the Council should be sought from the copyright holders concerned.
