Local Development Framework Studies

In February 2006 the five Wiltshire councils and Swindon Borough Council comissioned David Couttie Associates to carry out a Sub-Regional study of the accommodation needs and aspirations of Gypsies and Travellers living on authorised and unauthorised sites and in bricks and mortar accommodation. In total, 170 interviews were achieved with the Gypsy and Traveller Community. A copy of the final report is now available below.

Retail Needs Assessment Study (October 2007)

Roger Tym and Partners were commissioned by North Wiltshire District Council (NWDC) to undertake an assessment of the Retail Needs of the District. The purpose of the study is to inform and provide the evidence basis for the Council's development planning policies, to be set out in the Local Development Framework.

Employment Land Review (October 2006)

Atkins were commissioned by North Wiltshire District Council (NWDC) to undertake a review of employment land within the District. The purpose of the study is to inform the Council on current issues facing employment land provision and the prospects and needs for its future.

Housing Market Assessment

The purpose of this Housing Market Assessment is to provide an overview of the housing market in the Swindon sub-region in order to inform housing and planning polices, and broader regeneration and economic development initiatives. The Assessment has been undertaken in accordance with the requirements for Housing Market Assessments issued by the Government. It was commissioned by North Wiltshire District Council, Kennet District Council, Swindon Borough Council and Wiltshire County Council. The Housing Market Assessment was completed in November 2006.
