Changes to black sack collections
The council no longer issues black refuse sacks to households in North Wiltshire
This will help us to provide a more cost-effective service for our customers. Consultation shows that the majority of residents would rather see a reduction in some service areas, in order to keep any rises in council tax to a minimum.
Black sacks were issued to properties that could not easily have used a wheeled bin, but this proved to be costly and ineffective.
All households that previously received black sacks now receive council stickers to attach to their own black sacks, which means that they are approved for collection. A maximum of 3 black sacks can still only be put out for collection each week. Any households affected by this can arrange to switch to a free wheeled bin, please telephone 01249 706111 for more information.
