Household Recycling Centres
In North Wiltshire we are now recycling around 20% of our household waste, but this means we now need to recycle even more to reduce the 80% that still ends up in landfill sites.
We need to protect our environment, as we cannot continue to bury millions of tonnes of rubbish every year. In addition to the
Kerbside Recycling collections, a wider variety of materials can be taken to the County Councils Household Recycling Centres.
What can you take?:
- Car batteries, tyres and engine oil
- Rubble and soil
- Garden waste
- Plastics- only ones with the numbers 1, 2 and 3
- Cardboard
- Tins of paint
- Glass bottles and jars
- Steel and aluminium cans and tins
- Textiles, clothes, curtains, blankets and shoes
- Newspapers, junk mail, white paper, magazines and yellow pages
