Affordable Housing

View current housing developments

This type of housing is generally a cheaper means of renting or home ownership. Housing association rental schemes and low-cost home ownership schemes enable those who would not under normal circumstances be able to obtain a mortgage or afford private rental to access a decent standard of accommodation.

Housing Association Rent

If you cannot afford to rent from a private landlord even with Housing Benefit assistance, another option is to rent from a housing association in the District. To get on the housing association list you need to register on the Housing Register operated by Westlea Housing Association on behalf of the Council. You will need to complete a Housing Application Form, which asks for details such as family size, the areas you would like to live in, income details etc.

If you wish to complete a Housing Application Form or have any queries about applying for housing, please call the Westlea Housing Association on Telephone 01249 465465.

Home Ownership Schemes

There are a number of Affordable Home Ownership Schemes to help first time buyers to purchase housing in the District.
