Abolition of Review
Benefit Review Forms are no longer needed from April 2004
It is important to remember the following:
Please continue to report all Changes in Circumstances relevant to your Benefit claim to the Council, as you may still be required to complete a new application form in certain cases.
Changes you must tell us about straight away:
- Any children leaving school or changing address
- Anyone moving in or out of your home (including boarders or tenants)
- Your income OR the income of anyone else living with you
- If your capital or savings increase by more than £200
- You or anyone living with you becomes a student, starts a YTS, goes into hospital or nursing care, goes to prison
- Starting, changing, or leaving a job
- You, or your partner are away for a month
- If you have a change in residency circumstances if the Home Office has allowed you into the UK
- Any other circumstances on which your claim is based changes
In order for us to ensure you continue to receive your correct entitlement, we may need to check your circumstances over the course of the claim. We may either:
- Visit you at home
- Send you out a postal form
- Telephone you in respect of your claim
Visits undertaken by North Wiltshire District Council Officers will normally be pre-arranged, however some may be unnotified.
It is advisable to have relevant documents in a safe place ready, such as Proofs of Rent, Income and Capital
Please note our Visiting Officers always carry picture identification as part of their Accreditation. Do not let them in unless you are happy as to the identity of the caller.
If you have any doubt as to the validity of the caller, please ring 01249 706111.
