Decent Homes Grant

Decent Homes Grants are available to help vulnerable households bring their homes up to the decent homes standard set by the Government.

A decent home is one which is wind and weather tight, warm and has modern facilities.

What is a Decent Homes Grant?

To meet the decent homes standard a property must:
  • be in a reasonable state of repair

If you think your property does not meet this standard then you may be eligible for a Decent Homes Grant.

The maximum grant payable is £10,000.

These are discretionary grants provided by North Wiltshire District Council.

Who is eligible for a Decent Homes Grant?

You can apply for a grant if you are:
  • an owner of a property
  • or a tenant with a lease agreement specifying responsibility for the required works
This type of grant is means tested.
