Local history and heritage

North Wiltshire District Council does not have a dedicated Heritage Service, however Wiltshire County Council does and makes a major contribution to the preservation of Wiltshire.

The Heritage Service provides the Record Office in close partnership with Swindon Borough Council; the Archaeology Service; the Museum Service; and the Conservation Service.  In addition, Wiltshire County Council Heritage Services works closely with the Wiltshire Buildings Record which is a voluntary society and educational charity.
