Countryside

North Wiltshire is a rural district with a rich and varied landscape from the open chalk downland in the south east to the ancient woodlands in the BraydonForest and the river Avon valley.

North Wiltshire District Council is committed to protecting the landscape and wildlife heritage of the area whilst promoting sustainable use of these resources.

The council’s plans and priorities to 2008 are set out in our Countryside and Open Space Strategy.
