Countryside and Open Space Strategy

The Council has developed a strategy which will guide our work in the countryside and open space over the coming years. The underlying theme of the strategy is rural regeneration - one of the Council's main priorities. However, there is a strong emphasis on recreation, as well as setting out how we will achieve protection of the natural environment, an increase in biodiversity and management of open space in the District. Most of the policies in the document will be achieved by working with key partners - other Local Authorities, statutory agencies, and community groups, amongst others.
