North Wiltshire District Council owns the leisure centres in the above towns. The centres are operated in partnership with DC Leisure.
North Wiltshire District Council is currently rolling out an extensive refurbishment programme across all four of its leisure centres.
The
Olympiad Leisure Centre in Chippenham has undergone a comprehensive gym refurbishment, new wet-side changing village complete with new showers, toilets, lockers and cubicles, new ceilings and lighting, new flooring and a new relaxation area over looking the swimming pool.
Work is now underway at the
Springfield Leisure Centre in Corsham. The work will see the complete refurbishment of the gym. Improvements will see the size of the gym being increased by 25% and housing 20% more equipment. The exercise equipment will be replaced by the latest Precor and Technogym models, each with an integrated personal viewing screen. A new audio visual cardio theatre system will be installed along with new plasma TV's. The work will also see the installation of new stair lift to gym, the replacement and upgrade of air conditioning and complete redecoration throughout the centre.
The opportunity is also being taken to undertake repairs to the roof. The work has just started and is scheduled to be complete by end of the summer.
Work is also underway at the
Lime Kiln Leisure Centre in Wootton Bassett. Improvements at the centre will see the complete redecoration of the entrance and reception area with new flooring, ceiling and wall coverings. The Swimming pool changing rooms will be redecorated and all lockers will be refurbished. As part of the work two stair lifts will be installed to provide disabled access.
The gym facility at
The Activity Zone in Malmesbury, like those at Lime Kiln and The Olympiad, has been fitted with new Spinning bikes. The reception and studio flooring have also been upgraded and there are plans to upgrade the air conditioning in the studio and gym in the coming months.
As part of the refurbishment programme, all four gym facilities are being re-branded ‘Kinetika’ – DC Leisure’s national chain of gyms which offer a friendly and convenient fitness environment for real people. And as part of the re-branding exercise, ‘Kinetika Journey’ - DC Leisure’s highly successful one to one gym programming and instruction sessions, will be rolled out across each centre over the coming months.
