The Playing Pitch Strategy gives a comprehensive picture of the current pitch provision for the sports of football, rugby, cricket and hockey, as well as providing as assessment of demand for these activities.  Two methodologies have been used – the National Playing Field Association’s Six Acre Standard and the Playing Pitch Methodology.  The outcome is that we are able to determine deficiencies or surplus for each sport in each community area.  The general view is that there is a deficiency for most of the sports in most areas.
