WASP is putting on two coach education workshops on one night in December. The courses, Developing Power and Speed, and Coaching Methods and Communication, are both being held at Devizes School on the 4th December from 6.30pm until 9.30pm and will cost £25 per course.

Coach Education Programme 08/09In partnership with West Wiltshire District Council, Kennet District Council, Swindon Borough Council and WASP we have developed a programme of coach education courses, located throughout the county between September and April that any coach can attend. A Club for All is designed to be attended by volunteers in a club, (possibly a club member, member of committee or the volunteer coordinator). The tutor will use club management and administration examples to help the volunteer / club member understand the benefits of opening up their club to the wider community and being equitable in their membership and practices. The workshop will help them produce basic action plan for the club with a view to its future sustainability.
Equity in your Coaching is designed to be attended by a sports coach. The tutor will use coaching examples to help coaches understand how they, as a coach in their coaching practice, should be equitable in their language and actions towards different people. Coaches have an important role to play in ensuring this happens therefore the workshop will help them to apply extend their existing skills, meet the needs of present and potential participants and find out where to go for further information.
