A Guide to Funding

Funding is available to support talented athletes to enable continued development in their respective sports with a view to challenging for honours at the London Olympics in 2012.

This award should make a huge difference to the successful individual in terms of providing financial support that will enable them to attend National events, training camps and make a significant contribution towards the costs associated with being involved in National level competition.

Applications are invited by individuals who are competing at County level as a minimum requirement, in an Olympic sport. All applications should be supported by a letter from a relevant National Governing Body officer (County, Regional or National) confirming your participation at that level and your status as a talented athlete.

All applications should be received by December 19^th 2008 and a decision will be made in early January as to the successful applicants. Applications received after December 19^th will not be considered.

Successful applicants will need to invoice the District Council for the award by March 31^st 2009. Failure to do so will result in the award being withdrawn.
