This year it will be easier than ever for local people to apply for funding to improve their local communities.

£460,000 is available for Community awards.  This funding can be used to help provide community facilities, equipment, and activities that are important to the local community.  These awards can really make a big difference in helping communities to get schemes and projects off the ground.  This year groups can apply for up to £2,500 without needing matched funding.

£500,000 is available for energy saving projects.  The Council is targeting local village halls, town and parish Councils and charities, to help them improve the energy efficiency of their buildings and to reduce their carbon footprints for the future.  Up to 50 Community Facilities will be given a free energy audit, which will highlight where improvements could be made.  They can then apply to the Council for funding support to implement some of the recommended improvements.
