Chippenham have had charges for many years and from time to time these need revising.  The Council does not have a statutory duty to provide car parking, but if it continues to do so then it needs to ensure that it does not become a burden on Council Taxpayers. Charges have now been introduced into other towns to avoid substantial increases in Council Tax and charges in Chippenham have been revised.
