Why the change in enforcement?

Dangerous and illegal parking, and increased traffic congestion are causing problems for all road users. North Wiltshire District Council will help concerned residents and visitors by:

Keeping North Wiltshire moving, as main roads will be kept clear of illegally parked vehicles, particularly during peak times.
Supporting local businesses, as short-term parking outside local shops will be inspected more frequently, increasing the potential for more local trade.
Supporting town centre needs, by encouraging commuters and shoppers to use long-stay car parks to free up short-stay parking spaces for people who need them.
Improving benefits to Blue Badge holders, by ensuring disabled parking spaces are only used by Blue Badge holders.
